Kimberly Stuckwisch creates visually bold films that balance cinematic craft with wit, vulnerability, and inventive character work. Whether directing commercials, music videos, theatrical comedy, or long-form narrative, she has a gift for creating unforgettable protagonists—women who break stereotypes, genuinely revel in joy, and embody a liberating sense of vulnerability.
"I look for projects that reflect how I try to live my life, which is a little off-kilter, with a helluva lot of joy. Give me fully embodied women who run the show and aren’t afraid to be a little ridiculous,” sh says.
Kimberly’s work spans brands including Walmart, Amazon, Procter & Gamble, and Moschino, and artists including Olivia Rodrigo, Megan Thee Stallion, H.E.R., PinkPantheress, and Angel Olsen—collaborations that showcase her ability to blend nuanced humor, performance, and meticulous visual design. Her films have earned recognition from the Clios, SXSW, the Berlin Commercial Awards, the UKMVAs, shots, and 1.4 Awards, celebrated for their originality, precision, and playful storytelling.
Alongside her directing career, Kimberly brings a wealth of experience and creative vision as the co-founder and President of The Elysian Theater in Los Angeles. Home to an emerging generation of fearless performers and creators, the theater has been described by Vulture as "the center of the hottest comedic art," reflecting its reputation as a hub for boundary-pushing experimentation and character-driven performance.
That spirit of curiosity and creative risk-taking runs through Kimberly’s filmmaking. Her work embraces the unexpected, finding humor, humanity, and emotional truth in equal measure, resulting in films that are visually sophisticated, culturally attuned, and impossible to mistake for anyone else’s.
